Telecommunications Management

The Telecommunications Management Division of the Iran Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company has evolved alongside the oil industry and serves as the telecommunications arm of one of the world’s largest oil-producing nations. Equipped with the most up-to-date telecommunications technologies, it provides highly efficient advanced industrial communication services with maximum reliability and minimal communication delay.

In addition to maintaining continuous, stable, secure, and long-distance industrial communications, this division is responsible for providing internal communications, voice and video services, and computer network connectivity throughout the Iran Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company, the headquarters and subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), the Ministry of Petroleum headquarters, oil administration buildings in Tehran, clubs, fuel distribution centers and fueling stations nationwide, oil transfer centers, and certain affiliated organizations such as the Oil Industry Health and Medical Services Organization, research institutes, and others.

Facilities and Infrastructure

A digital radio network comprising 304 telecommunications stations nationwide, with capacities of one, two, and three STM-1 links across various routes spanning approximately 8,000 km of aerial transmission paths, configured with Main and Standby redundancy systems.

Telephone networks consisting of 260 telephone exchanges with a total capacity of 84,500 ports.

Underground and internal cable networks with a combined length exceeding 150,000 km of cable pairs.

Management telephone network (Key System) comprising 301 systems with a total capacity of 27,600 ports.

IP/MPLS/VPN network providing secure communications across the oil industry’s WAN infrastructure.

Nationwide HF mobile radio network covering pipeline routes and refineries, with an approximate coverage area of 375,000 square kilometers.

Industrial and non-industrial voice systems for fire alarms and operational announcements at all oil transfer centers.

Satellite mobile telephone communication systems for temporary, emergency, and crisis situations, consisting of 24 units.

A fiber-optic network extending approximately 5,000 km, utilizing 16-core and 24-core fiber cables to support growing telecommunications needs and applications such as:
