Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company respond to inquiry requests submitted by individuals?
No. Due to security and safety considerations related to oil pipelines, the company does not respond to inquiries submitted by private individuals. It only responds to inquiry requests submitted by governmental organizations, public institutions, and state-owned companies.
2. Is it the responsibility of the requesting organization or authority to verify the applicant’s ownership and confirm the geographic coordinates of the location under inquiry?
Yes. Verification of the applicant’s ownership is the responsibility of the requesting organization. The company responds only to adjacent landowners and property owners whose site boundaries have been determined either in the title deed or by a certified court-appointed expert, and whose geographic coordinates are provided in UTM format or as (X, Y) coordinates.
3. Is the safety corridor (right-of-way) distance for oil pipelines fixed?
No. The right-of-way for each pipeline is determined according to applicable standards and depends on factors such as the pipeline diameter and the geographical conditions of the area. Therefore, it must be assessed based on the specific geographic coordinates of the site.
4. Is the business license applicant required to visit the company in person to submit documents or follow up on an inquiry?
If all required documents are attached to the inquiry request submitted by the requesting organization and are correctly uploaded to the system, no in-person visit is necessary. However, if the provided geographic coordinates indicate that the site is within or near the pipeline right-of-way, an expert from the relevant regional office of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company must visit the site together with the business license applicant. If necessary, a manual probing survey will be conducted to accurately determine the pipeline location before the inquiry response can be issued.
5. Is it possible to electronically inquire about pipeline right-of-way boundaries through the website of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company?
No. To inquire about pipeline right-of-way boundaries, you must use the National Integrated Land Management Window (Iran Land System) at: https://iraneland.ir.
