New coating of Semnan-Shahrood 22” pipeline was surveyed by C- SCA.

The report by Public Relations Office of the National Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company, Northeast District, quotes the head of Corrosion Engineering Unit in the District as saying: C-Scan is conducted to coating survey of pipeline and to ensure that pipeline operation is running safely.

Ali Reza Talezari further stated: in this method, electromagnetic currents are applied via the pipe in order to pinpoint any faults in the wrap or coating, and to detect the intensity and possible leak of the currents.

He pointed out that: Corrosion Engineering Unit of the National Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company is determined to implement the latest method to protect pipelines wrap and coating as it yields early and effective return.

According to Talezari, C-Scan operation was conducted in 20km of Semnan-Shahrood 22” pipeline, from 265km to 285km, covering the new coating of this route.
